“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
This probably is one of the most popular wedding readings. Patsy and Brad made me stop and think about this verse on their wedding day. They truly showed this type of love to each other in every way possible. It was a joy to be a part of their wedding day and get to know them just a little bit more.

“In high tide or low tide Ill be your side.”
This wedding was absolutely stunning, from the charming Tybee Island Wedding Chapel to the small blush details. I am in love with this wedding. So glad Sara D Harper was there to capture all its glory. I’m going to let these photos speak for themselves.

When I saw these invites I instantly fell in love. Usually I am not a pink kind of gal but these are so personal and unique how can you not love them? These awesome custom wedding invites were made by Jean Sanders Illustrations. She was a friend of my past bride Margaret (how lucky is she?). These invites really do offer a truly personal, unique, fun, whimsical, and vibrant first impression for your guests. An invitation really is the first impression of your wedding day. Some people say first impressions are everything… If you aren’t lucky enough to have a friends that is so talented there are a lot of options to look into. I highly recommend Etsy — so many options and you get to work with the actually artist to make your invitation perfect.
Here are some of my favorites wedding invitation designers/artists on Etsy: Jolly Edition by Jolly, CW Designs, Diary Sketches, Easy Print PD.

So, you’ve decided you to allow kids at your wedding (talking under 10 years old) but not too keen on the idea. Maybe you have children in your wedding party and feel you should invite other kids in your family to keep everyone happy. (note: ALWAYS remember it’s your wedding and you’re not here to make others happy but I know there has be some balance in the end.) Whatever the case may be it’s an excellent idea to put someone in charge of the kids during the reception. A “Kid Activities Coordinator” — this could be a friend of a friend or a professional. Regardless, it’s a very smart decision. You will also need to designate a spot for all the kids — kids table + play area. If you already have a rustic look going cover their table with craft paper and let them go to town coloring. Provide fun games, dinosaurs for the boys, tiaras for the girls, books, anything to keep them occupied. This will hopefully keep them from running around everywhere but still letting them have fun in their own area. Face it kids will be kids no matter where they are. So make it fun for them too! This will allow their parents to have a little more freedom as well. It’s a win, win if you ask me! In the end they might even make the night more fun.

“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” —Dr. Seuss
Wendy and Lucas said “I Do” in Wendy’s Aunt and Uncles backyard in Savannah, GA. It over looked the Thunderbolt River that gave the most wonderful breeze. They longed for a simple, laid back, fun wedding they could enjoy and not stress over. They did just that. This charming backyard wedding was one for the books – for sure one of my favorites. It was a true pleasure getting to know Wendy and Lucas, along with their wonderful family and friends. So glad I was lucky enough to help their dream become a reality.

I had so much fun working with Mallory + Justin who photographed this shoot! They were so. much. fun. Mallory and Justin are from Ohio (burr) and were planning a trip to HHI. They contacted me wanting to collaborate on a shoot while they would be in town shooting a friends wedding at the beautiful Sonesta Resort. Mallory also grew up vacationing to HHI and knew she wanted to take full advantage of the beautiful southern charm. Being from Ohio they do not get to photograph spanish moss covered tress and the ocean too often. So, we had everything in order: flowers, dress, model, location. Then our model fell through due to flight cancelations, boo, the day before we had the shoot scheduled. Since Mallory and Justin were only going to be in town for a short time we couldn’t reschedule. Mallory called and said “Well, what do we do?” I (not so confident) said “Ill do it.” We had worked so hard getting the details together; I wasn’t going to cancel that whole darn thing. I am not a fan of being in photos but they truly made it all okay, as I am sure they do with all their bride and grooms. So, if you are looking for some very cool people to work with and aren’t so comfortable in front of the camera these are your folks. And have I mentioned how awesome their photos are?

“Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.” – Coco Chanel
This wedding was absolutely stunning. Simple yet elegant at its best. Kate did a wonderful job planning all the details and I had the honor of executing it all. Talk about organized, Kate was a pro. It was so fun being a part of their day, from the lavender details to her gorgeous all lace wedding dress by Romona Keveza bought at Maddison Row. I also got the opportunity to work with the amazing Harwell Photography. It was a fairytale from their vows in front of the famous fountain in Forsyth Park to their pedi cab ride under the stars. Kate and Ken’s wedding was also featured in Carats and Cake!
